Well I think it is pretty important to plan your business before you set out. I know sometimes we get excited about a new idea and don't plan as carefully as we should.

It is important to write a business and marketing plan. This is a great way to get all your ideas down on paper and to give your business some direction. If you do need business financing you will also need your business plan.

Being able to market and promote your new business is also essential. That is why it is so important to have a business plan. Know a little bit about your competition and what edge you have over them.

Consider how many hours a day you can devote to the business. Do you want to start out part time first to see how things go? In some cases this may be a good idea.

Also, if i might add, analyzing the market is really important point. Try to analyze the scope and future of your business.
This will also help in planning. Sometimes a good idea might fail if not properly planned (repeating what kconnections said).

Thanks for posting... I know, its hard, when you have an idea you came up with that has great potential, you just want to act on it immediately, when sometimes its best to wait and plan stuff out.

Many dot coms do the build it and figure out profits later. I still am. LOL

I wish I could be a good planner. But I never am. I just work like crazy and hope one day I'll succeed.
