Default What if you had an investor?

Hypothetically, if you had an investor interested in providing your web design business with some capital and you had all the software you need, how much would you ask for and how would you use it?

it depends on the project. every project is different.

So, if you can provide a sample description of project which we can assume, then i think it'd be easy to calculate costs

I meant a general investor who is giving you money for the purpose of expansion and growth of your web business.

Good answer...

I agree that I would probably launch an advertising campaign as well as buy some hosting for resell purposes and to host my own sites. I would also probably add the needed funds to take a Flash or PHP class and maybe other things that will add to my 'resume' and credentials.

On the other hand, I could see hiring freelancers and building a team that can handle more of a workload than I can by myself. Plus, if it is the right team I will have programmers that are strong in areas where I may be weak.

I don't think anybody will offer you this kind of money, if already don't have a record of doing business and making money. The money is usually offered for further development.

I was only speaking hypothetically with no real regard to probability. Let's assume that it is an investment with an established design business that is looking to expand.

I would first ask for about $100 to start an ad campaign on webmaster forums and related sites but also would get good hosting and also get some good software. I would never use a sponsor I find they can be a bit demanding.
