Oh ok, another problem I encountered today, was using the "Quick Reply" feature, when I hit "Post...", it sometimes takes upwards of 20 seconds before it goes through.

The forum needs something that can draw more activity/members. Contests perhaps?

Stick around on that. We have had some pretty serious contests every 3 or 4 months or so. I'm sure we'll roll a new one out before too long.
