I think the idea of the post was to tell about how you may have to purchase web plans in order to go to certain websites. Looks like some of the big ones have plans underway for something in 2012. At least I have a 2012 domain name, maybe I can capitalize off of this.

I've read all about this news but I don't believe in that article. Internet will continue as long as people needs it and for the record people is stick on surfing the net.

its the same thing as having cable for your tv. You pay for the certain channels that you like and can watch, now for the internet, you would have to subscribe to this certain websites to be able to go to those sites.

It won't happen. A lot of money will be lost and economy will eventually suffer.

2011 is when all 1,2,3 and 4 letter TLDs will be taken though.

I don't think that internet will end by 2012, coz as of now, it's starting to get bigger as internet users increases as well.

well, if certain websites allow this subscription thingy for access to their sites, it would only make them richer, or loose more traffic

It may become more limited, although you cannot close something that is self generated. We can run our own internet, what makes you think that it won't go underground if it's banned above.
