startlogic good or bad host?

Hi there. I'm Looking for some advice. Does anyone of you have tried using this hosting company as your host provider? I have seen a review from this site: http://www.hosting-buyers-guide.com/re/2005startlogic/ they got ranked no.2 on this review site. I want to know if they are one of the best hosting services in the web. Thanks.

I hosted my sites on StartLogic for quite a while and they have very responsive Customer Service. They always met their uptime guarantee so they win in the reliability department.

However, I did switch to another host because their reseller package lacked the flexibility that I was looking for and they don't use cPanel / WHM.

If you aren't looking to have a reseller account and don't mind using the vDeck control panel, then StartLogic is a great host to go with. VDeck beats cPanel for ease of use, in my opinion, but it lacks a lot of the features you may be use to once you've had time with a cPanel host.

I think you should refer to few web hosting directories and web hosting review sites, compare the prices and plans of various host and accordingly make a choice.

well I don't know, maybe they have gone down hill since the time you guys heard about them, yes the are good for cheap webhosting, but when it comes to support its very frustrating to have someone get back to you, I have called them, emailed, spoke to a live agent online, they all say the same thing we'll have someone get back to you, even their forum moderators complained about their support. My database went down, I paid them to fix it and it took them 48hrs to put it back up and that's because I was pretty much calling them on the hr every hr. I am actively searching for a more reliable host any recommendations besides startlogic please let me know.

Support is key to success with any web hosting buisness. I got lucky... my host responds wihtin 15 minutes (somtimes isntantly). It's great.

The best way to find it out would be by reading reviews , or just take 1 month shared account to test them ,well i've read some positive comments on their service.

I havent used StartLogic myself but they are quite a reputable hosts looking at all the reviews. I may consider using them for one of my next websites.
