For DN Lodge and the sites i've been working on with SEO, over 85% of SE traffic comes from Google. I like working with Google, in terms of SEO, more than msn, or any other major search engines. I don't know why, but I find it better to target Google, because it's the most popular SE, which means if you rank high on a good term, you have a better pay off in terms of traffic than you would on, lets say MSN where that term is searched less.
But for new sites, MSN usually gives the most amount of traffic. This is because MSN has a less strict policy when it comes to new sites. For example, Google has the "sandbox" which doesn't let very new sites rank good until the site proves that it is not a spam site.
The above is why it is more expected to see spammy results in MSN search than you would in Google. Mainly it's because in Google, spam sites will be detected within the about 3-6 month sandbox period before the site is allowed to rank high for competitve terms. MSN doesn't give as much as an advantage to new sites, which is both good and bad.
