Getafreelancer is a site where you can get a serious online job: one time, part time, full time...
Programmers, translators, writers, web designers, moderators, advisors...are wanted. Amateurs also.
There are many Work-at-Home sites around, many scams, so I am interested in what you think of this site.

It's hard to win a project at getafreelancer.com - too many competitors! But I won my first project last week so I'll continue bidding.

I have heard many bad things about this site. I have heard things about a terrible escrow system, among other common complaints. I can not confirm rumors, as I have not used their site, but I am just disseminating information that I have collected.

You should try other freelance websites like project4hire.com
They don't have as many projects as getafreelancer but the competition is less.

I have had to work on some stuff that was originally done by misc. people from this site. I think it is pretty good... everyone has their niche.

Not necessarily a place to get work for custom, robust, web apps but most of these folks are pretty capable.

Looks like a good site, the admin prompted me to join about a month ago to promote a project, but there was no-one at the site, so i didn't try.
