Alright I do not want a .com or .net or any of the following ones they have available. How would I go about starting my own .??? domain service?

for instance lets say i wanted something like www.dnlodge.deco < thats just an example. if anyone could guide me in the right direction i'd really aprreciate it.

So, do you mean you want to have your own TLD service?

Start your own domain? I'm a bit lost as to what you are talking about exactly...

Sounds like you want your own TLD (Top Level Domain). Things like that need to be approved by ICANN and I wouldn't even know where to begin. You best bet is to find a small 3 letter .com and work it that way.

Example: netwiedbase.fun.com

To have the URL end with a custom extension, like netwidebase.fun, would require you to have ownership of the .fun TLD.

Yeah that's basically it. I been searching info all over the place but cannot find anything I want to use for example .fun domains so people can register it. I already have the catorgory that I want and it would be great for everyone who is into what the the .??? is.

ICANN,Is there a way to contact them?

I'm not really an expert on the subject, but I don't think this is something the average Joe can accomplish. ICANN is the authority on the topic, I would suggest taking a look at ICANN - Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers.

Im no expert either either, but my guess would be that it would take some serious cash to accomplish this, depending on the TLD, it probably isn't worth the money or effort.

May want to read ICANN | New gTLD Program

From what I gather, its a lengthy process that can take years.

It's not easy to start with your own TLD. You have a lot to do befoer you can have that one.

info is also good and .com is the top seller. For me, it's the .info but no matter what extension name you use, you still need to do a lot of work before you will be a successful.

I believe you can have better chances of success by launching a great website as a reseller as it can be easy plus you are not going to worry about site maintenance as all the scripts will be coming from the original registrars plus you will have many tools and options.
