I mean there are lot of people registering domains which have expired , some of these domains have been used for sites and also have PR is it worth buying these domains??

you will lose the PR ratings once google updates the toolbars so what is the big deal?? why are people buying those domains

Yes they're worth it, Just be careful of registering domains with a bad history (being blacklisted, banned from yahoo, google, or msn).

Dropped domains are good for resell value, if it has a high PR and some nice traffic then you can turn around and sell that domain and make a profit.

or you could always develop the site and re-sell for even higher, its up to you what you do with your purchase but the easiest is re-sell.

Depending on the traffic (if any), SERP, and PR would be the main factors for reselling.

I've picked up several dropped domains, developed, and resold for nearly 10x what I paid.
