Yeah, but people also note, that under mTLD ( the managing organiation of mobi ), that under their terms of use, it most ONLY be purchased for a WAP enabled site. That means you site MUST be a site for viewing of phones, PDA's, and other mobile devices.

i mean who will regonice what device is used.

and that it is possible to have a dot com wich is accessable for mobile devices.

I understand that Whiz.in is a Resellerclub.com reseller. Resellerclub.com is currently giving very low cost registration to it's resellers and Whiz.in is the most competitive of the Resellerclub resellers that I know of. I haven't registered a domain with them at this current time because of expenses but I know many people who have used them and are happy with their service.

Registration is for a minimum of 2 years.

I contacted a representative of whiz.in and let them know that their service is being discussed in this forum.

I just bought YEY.MOBI (My first .MOBI)

It looks like 2 thirds of the LLLL.mobi have been registered in the past 2 months and the last third of the LLL.mobi are listed on this thread.

If you are interested in getting a good .mobi domain, then a LLL.mobi might be the way to go. I got to warn you though. It takes ages to load.

I don't think I follow this thread..... so I looked up mobi on wikipedia which states .mobi is a....

top-level domain approved by ICANN as a sponsored TLD. It will be restricted to mobile devices and sites providing services for them on the Mobile Web.

My site is fluid xhtml 1.1 and CSS, it renders perfectly on a cell phone or any other mobile device... so, am I missing something? Is some entity creating a mobile only web network? I fail to see the point. Other than running out of tld's or names that is......

People are going crasy about .mobi names.

flowers.mobi recently sold for $200,000
LLL.mobi domains are now considered to be worth around $100 minimum by many people. (Two weeks ago they were less than $20)
NNN.mobi sell for $400 minimum.

I'm not sure if they are over hyped or not but there is a lot of money being spent on them. At the current stage, it looks like the selling prices that it is receiving are comparable to the .info extension. The difference is that the .info extension has a lot more domains registered and so there may be great unregistered .mobi bargains around. Then again, maybe the .mobi domain is over hyped.
