Re: Names
Thats because the rules governing who can be a registrar is like the wild wild west, and largely, unenforced. Lets face it anyone can be a registrar from a laptop, if they get the accredidation from ICANN, and right software.
I thought the rules were that registrars were supposed to be impartial.
They are not.
I think companies holding domains hostage are immoral, but its not illegal.
You have to be flexible. there are simular domains out there that someone is trying to sell, or maybe even a better one.
I am old enough to remember people and gas stations hoarding gas because there was a crisis ( During the Carter Administration) and paying up to 65 cents a gallon ( WOW!).
This is the same thing.
There are no shortage of ideas, just like there was no shortage of gas.
So many people are caught up on one name. The bottom line is, if you got the mojo to make it successful, an alternative will do just fine.
I've seen plenty of great names on crappy sites.
I'll bet if you post the general idea, a lot of people in this forum will give you some killer ideas.
The web is not a socialist society were everyone has a fair and equal shot. It's just as capitolistic, and ,dog eat dog, as the rest of the world.
Thats why I love it.
