You may want to take a look at http://www.joomla.org/

You can upload it and then simply install things to add function to your site. It is pretty easy to figure out how to use.

You will have a site up and something to mess with in under an hour.
If your webhost provides you with Cpanel, you can simply install it from there without having to upload it.

If you have questions feel free to ask. I can help you install it, but I will be gone for a while today.

hope that helps
Nigel

Well, I think network solutions provided you with the domain name. If you are trying to host a website with godaddy, it won't work very well. You need to have database access.

The last time I tried to help someone hosted with godaddy, I was not able to do much.

You need a relatively cheap hosting plan from someone like http://www.hostingmetro.com You need also to make sure you are on a linux server not windows. Linux is much cheaper anyway.

When you get a hosting plan, you will be provided with FTP login information. Meaning, you get a user name and password to be able to upload files and manage your website(database).

Back to Godaddy.... if you were provided with ftp information and information to login to either Plesk or Cpanel, you are ok. If you have to call tech support to administer your database, then we have a problem.

I would call them and see if you have the ability to mess with your database.

Hope that helps...
Nigel

Edit: The standard plan on hosting metro is cheap.... 6.95 monthly It provides you with everything you need. You can install a bunch of stuff and try it out with the click of a button.

I will still likely show you how to manually install it though. You can learn alot in about an hour this way.

So do you think hostingmetro.com is the way to go? Is it pretty flexable
