Thumbs down Digg BANS DNLodge, We will do the same!

If anyone has noticed, our new homepage is complete with informative articles and information. When the site was programmed, a link to digg was placed so if the user found the article or news to be informative, they could easily submit to digg.

To my dismay, I noticed this wasn't functioning. It turns out Digg banned DNLodge.com at some point in the past. The prior owners took pretty good care of the site and I'm certain no strange business practices took place. Anyway, it appears to be banned and identified as spam.

I figured an email (attached below) would straighten it out and maybe some useful information would be attained as to why exactly this happened. Here is my original email to digg:

Hello,
I am the owner of dnlodge.com, a popular webmaster forum since 2005. We recently had a custom CMS coded and did a total redesign on our main page, which included articles, tutorials, etc. We had the programmer specifically include a "Digg" icon so they may digg the articles and information.
To my dismay, I noticed that digg has somehow banned dnlodge.com? I'm not sure why, but I'm willing to correct whatver may be happening so my users can access your site from the links.

Please let me know what I can do to assist.

Warm Regards,

Luke Thomas

Thanks for taking the time to contact us at Digg.com regarding your
website.

As you know, Digg is a community-driven website – our community has
consistently reported the domain to which you refer as spam.

From our FAQ (www.digg.com/faq):

Does Digg differentiate between spam and spamming?
Spam is very subjective. Many times, the spammer honestly doesn't think
they are spammers, so we generally leave that up to the Digg community
to decide with the report/bury feature. We may delete users who
blatantly and consistently submit obvious spam. Additionally, comment
spam is against our TOS and will result in an account ban or deletion,
depending on the severity. Submission spamming is different because it
may be quality content but the submitter is "spamming" every story from
their blog/site. While we welcome users to submit their own content,
overdoing it often incites the users to mark the user as a spammer, the
site as a spam site, and otherwise decent content as blogspam. We
recommend considering this before you engage in this activity. Remember,
if domains are consistently buried and reported as spam, the site may be
banned.

Because unblocking your domain would not be in line with the best
interests of the larger Digg community, we will not reverse this decision.

For more information, please see Digg / Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) and Digg / Terms of Use

Thank you,

-Digg Support
Well, I guess that is their way of telling me to fuck off. In any case, I will be spending the weekend removing all links, images, and information related to digg from the DNLodge website.

Shennanigans.

This is definitely discouraging, but Digg isn't the only game in town anyways.

I gave up on Digg months ago, I use Mixx.com/StumbleUpon and Blog Engage for my social bookmarking.

I have 2 bookmarking sites of my own as well, though the traffic wouldn't be as good as the ones listed above, they do have good PR.
