Has anyone placed an ad on StumbleUpon?
Its similar to Adwords but you can target your traffic and set your rates.
I would like to try it, but would like to hear some reviews first. Advertise & Promote Your Site with StumbleUpon

Not tried yet but that sounds good if it is applicable.

You have to create a campaign. So If your budget is $25 a day with the corresponding number of traffic you want. Your page will then appear when a person clicks the “Stumble!” button on their StumbleUpon toolbar.SU will send your site directly to people who match your targeting criteria, and specifically to those who have expressed an interest in similar sites before. They display your content directly in the user’s browser – not as an ad, but as the sole and entire focus. Each unique URL is displayed only once to each member.

Does it allow as many options as Google AdWords offer? Like the GEO and the daily spending limits as well as the complete statistical coverage data?

As far as I've known, you can limit your budget and set the demographics of your visitors to where your site would appear. There are some specifications on what your campaign would be. And they will show some results and data for reports.

The problem with StumbleUpon is just that, it's stumbling. People stumble from site to site rather quickly and therefore if your site is not sticky enough they are most likely to bounce of your site as soon as they land on it. Could give it a try though. If you want a feel of the traffic then try installing their stumbleupon bar and stumble your site to see what the traffic is like if any comes from your stumble.

I did not try the Stumbleupon in promoting our website but in terms of conversion I think it does not give revenue.

if you got a lot of friends that will click on your page, then you can get humongous traffic (but that won't stay for long)

It has something to do with the number of your 'stumbling' 'friends. The more friends you have, the more traffic you can get.

I havent as of yet because I dont see any advantage to it.
I get plenty of traffic from regular toolbar users so why pay for it.
One tip though, StumbleUpon is cracking down on users stumbling their own content, its a big no-no so be careful, let someone else thumb it up first.
