Well, I finally put an EntreCard on my blog, still learning what its all about though.

Do you have one on your website?

Can you offer any tips on using it and getting the most out of it?

The part I am hazy on, is the credits. How many credits do I get when someone drops my card?

With regards to entrecard credits... i think it's 1:1 rule, meaning dropping 1 entrecard earns you 1 credit.. so the more you drop cards, the more you earn credits

entrecard brings traffic but not faithful viewers which causes to higher bounce rate because some people drop by to your blogs or sites just to drop cards and they don't stay for too long

I do have an acount in Entrecard but I haven't updated it for the last two months. Entrecard is another good source of traffic but people only visit your website or blog just to drop cards but anyway any kind of traffic is good right?

First, you must create an account by signing-up. Then, you have to get an entrecard widget and place the code in your blog. After that you can now advertise your blog by dropping your card at other blogs..

Is this really an effective tool in web promotion, does it bring more visitors?

Yeah it's effective in driving traffic coz you'll be able to advertise your site on someone else's websites (*absolutely free*)

Anyway I'm not so sure about it as backlinks but I do see few links from blogs with entrecard on Yahoo

No it cannot be treated as a backlink, as your URL isn't displayed, your Entrecard profile ID number is.
