Free photoshop software?

Sorry, wasn't sure what section to put this in, but does anyone know any free sites that offer photoshop type creating? I need to make a banner for the header of one of my sites and trying to do it myself to explore that. Thank you

If you want photoshop, then you can download it for free. But it's a trial version.

You might want to try GIMP or PAINT.NET

Both are excellent alternatives to Photoshop.
