| One of the most common things to bog down a system is bloatware that starts when your computer starts, but is not really needed.
For cleaning, I would suggest using a combination of Adaware, Spybot, and ClamWin. After you have removed all of the virus/maleware, go through and remove unnecessary programs that start with the computer. Spybot has a nice tool that allows you to easily disable start programs and provides information.
Just don't start deleting stuff though and instead uncheck the programs so that they do not start. Then once you are sure you don't need it you can delete it. Google the start programs or check out the info provided by spybot.
After you have this under control, go in and optimize your services to cut out the unecessary ones. |
