Default Mouse stops working

Just in the last couple of weeks my mouse has stopped working after I reboot my comp. If I unplug it and plug it back in again it works fine, until the next reboot anyway. I've tried different usb ports, a different mouse, defaukt mircosoft drivers, the latest logitech drivers, disabling my AV but nothing seems to help. Any ideas?
I'm using XP pro and logitech mx310 mouse to btw

I have the same issue with a Belkin USB mouse on another machine. If I plug it into a different USB port it seems to work fine. I think it is a driver issue but never got around to fixing it.

You spill something? How old is the computer and mouse?
It should work when you reboot your computer but you shouldn't have to do this every time.
Look into buying a new one.

Well, you could just buy another mouse. Something that is more compatible with your PC. Its not that expensive anyways.

Yaa it happens with USB mouses after a lot of usage . Usually somewhere the mouse wire has a loose contact and is weakened . Best solution buy another mouse .

Maybe your usb ports are the one defective. I used to experience the same yet from other device. Most usb ports are easily worn out if plugged always with flash drives and others.

to open question but my suggestions are:

1. call a tech support to know the problem or deliver it to a computer shop;
2. format your Operating Systems and Hardwares or try to Change your Operating System;
3. may be the USB Slots is malfunctioning;

hope it helps you.

That's a common problem regarding on USB ports. I experienced that problem also and the best way to fix this, "Don't plug out your USB device".
