Does anyone know what exactly Safari renders different that allows some websites to look totally defunct when browsed?

I never really had issues with Safari until now and I'm curious as how to pinpoint what makes the browser so much different.

Looks like Google Chrome is also using this style.

Any help is appreciated.

I was reading something about how you can compare the browser capabilities to IE6. Not sure if that helps, but the rendering and the visual layout styles are supposed to be very close to the same for all three browsers.
