How do I add a search box for movies?

I want to add a search box related to things like Movie theaters into my regional website. I want to have a "search for movies" where you can put the zipcode in and have a search for theaters within 15 minutes or miles of the zipcode. I've seen it done, I just can't get my thoughts together on how they did it. Is is like an RSS feed?

The example I'm using is www.hollywood.com.
