I think it would be advisable to learn to code the basics in notepad then use dreamweaver or frontpage afterwards.

dreamweaver purelly for looks, all these years i have used it so i just keep using it. I like the look better than notepad. Notepad is just blah!

I actually just started using Dreamweaver this week, and I like it.

I like it for the following reasons...

1) You can have multiple files open at once with tabs for each
2) Saves directly to FTP so no need for manual upload
3) Automatic text coloring in PHP and other languages

I could care less about all the other features (ie. the "design" view for editing HTML with using code).

Yap.. I agree to her. Dreamweaver is better to use if you're already familiarized on coding the basic HTML..

I like dreamweaver better because, along with the design view, one can always code in "code view" just like note pad, and i personally like the syntax colouring feature in dreamweaver.
