When/How did you become a webmaster?

When/How did you become a webmaster? I'm just wondering.. how old were you??

I became a "webmaster" when I was 23 years old, about 5 years ago. I just started getting intrested in the subject from my area of work at IBM.

Depends.

In 1999/2000, I aquired a Macintosh LC, and learned HTML, and messed around on Tripod/Angelfire.

In 2003, I launched an actual website that didn't suck a**.

I was 13 when I became a webmaster.

I had been doing some little web projects here and there, over the years, but started doing it professionally a couple years ago.

Basically, a construction company my wife worked for that didn't really want a website but needed to get one up and running to appease a large client found out I could piece one together for them. They hired me to handle it and I realized in the midst of the project that I really enjoy doing it. Once I was done with that first client, I hit the books, bought some graphics software, and soon started putting together a portfolio.

4 years ago I was a beginner karateka (am not that advanced now, don't worry . I made a site for my club in front page on a template. Wrote a lot of content and released it. After a while i noticed my site is not that good compared to others. So I started tweaking something. Moved to dreamweaver and learnt using photoshop.

Then I made a site for my BF and his brother in law. Something told me I can make it in the design world .. I am still struggling, but I have 9 sites of my own and I absolutely love this.

Started just to provide information on karate and now I am living my dream
