Are you running a directory?

I'm just wondering how easy it is to get people to submit links to your directory.. if you don't have a high PR.

So do you have a directory? And how easy is it to get links in it?

I have 2 specialized derectories for webmasters: Links for Webdesign and Free webmaster links. Both of them are easy to use and the submission is fast, free and with no conditions. I hate directories that ask for links back, money and accounts to be created, so I am not making this mistake.

I might add a directory soon, it all depends on how many people visit my sites and its growth and all.

I assume that if your directory becomes popular.. you could make alot off paid listings.

I will never ask for money. a popular and good directory can get revenue and not have to ask for money

The directory I built for a client was getting tons of link requests before it even had a PR... many of them were spammers looking for a link even though their site wasn't even related in the least, especially gambling websites.

I figure most won't consider paying for a link until the site has a PR3 or higher but there are a few who don't know any better.

I have just started one and noticing that it is very slow in the beginning; but I am positive that it will speed up. I suppose that I will have to wait for the next PR update too.

Know of any good places to announce a new directory?

Maybe I should get someone to write a good article on my directory?!
