Re: Are you a DIY kind of person?
I'm currently a do-it-yourself webmaster also. However in business, one can only do so much. The objective is to duplicate yourself. Obviously this is very hard to do but I often hire certain jobs out so I can spend more time on the things that I cannot hire people to do.
Webmastering is a business. It's fairly new for me but I've had other businesses and although this is entirely different, it still pays to hire certain things out. We can all sweep floors and mow lawns too but when our time is better spent on the computer we ought to hire those jobs out. Not only does it allow you to be more productive, but it also provides food for someone else.
Like I said, I'm a DIY in a lot of ways because it's very difficult in the webmaster business. Usually we start out as it's us against the world but in the long run, when it's possible, try to gather some associates that can assist. As you all know, it's impossible to know everything and keep up on every aspect of the web and maintaining our sites so a little help once and a while never hurts.
That's my opinion on it.
