If I create a small and simple website on a domain, would it generally sell much more than just selling the domain name? I'm debating whether or not to spend time "developing" a few websites and then selling them off.
it depends on the domain name you have and what content you will be putting on the site. IMO it might be better to create a site. with that you might earn bigger by the ad campaigns and when selling it and it works well for me.
Well you could develop a website, promote it then sell it or just the domain. As long as you get some good revenue and stats. That's all that matters. When selling/buying a site, content is only a portion of what matters.
making a small site with the domain is a good idea, just make sure everything fits the domain name and that the domain name itself has a nice ring to it. i think you can benefit more if you create a small site to go along with it
Adding content and design relevant to the domain name adds more value to the domain. This will definitely increase the value of that particular site for you to profit.
Well obviously, if you developed a site on a domain, it owuld be worth much more than just selling the domain by itself.
But if you put a turnkey site with little or no content on the domain, it probably won't add much value. But really, it depends on the domain and what kind of site/content/designs you can include in the sale.
Eww. Please don't turn to turnkey. Even if you aren't experienced with building sites at least try to develop yours on your own or at least without using a turnkey script. Your site won't be original and no one will want to buy.
