More, better, different content for portal site?

Hi all, I've also posted in the review forum, but I'd like some ideas for content for a new portal site I'm building www.citinow.com. Use FF to access it, cause the main page is broken from IE for now! The subdomains tampabay.citinow.com and miami.citinow.com are available from IE if you need to use that browser.

Right now I have business ads, business directory, classfied ads, events, blogs, personals, chats, shopping, news, videos, etc.

I was looking at google gadgets for some games and other small modules.

I admit I'm more of a techy than a designer, and I'm probably older than my target audience, so any ideas of 'fresh' content is appreciated.
