Default Forums? What not/to?

Forums?

I am think about starting a new forum. What do you always want to see on a forum? Like mods etc and also what forum software would you want a forum to use?

Personally, I prefer SMF until I have the ability to invest in a vB liscense. For some forums, SMF has all I would need and don't see any reason to pay for anything else. Here at DN, we saw a lot of benefit to spending the money and getting vB.

Yea, I suggest just starting one, no matter what software you use, then when you get some members, ask what they would like improved or changed, then just keep improving and changing until everyone says they love the forum. Although this may requiore investment, it will pay out IF your dedicated.

I use phpBB. With good modding skills you can have some AWESOME results. As for what I am looking into a forum? Intelligent discussion, good community, interesting content.

Nowadays the forums are the new fashion. You need to have something indeed good in order to convince people your project is worth their effort ...
